jillybean green was created by a Los Angeles mom of two young hip kids who started taking an interest in helping the environment.

First, by no means are we 100% green in our lifestyle, but we are committed to making a change towards a greener life.   As Global Warming activist, Laurie David has said, “It’s not about doing everything, it’s about doing something.”  Every small choice makes a difference.  

To help make the process less intimidating we have done some of the work for you.  We have searched high and low to find the coolest earth friendly, fashion forward products and think we have assembled the best of the best.  We offer families alternatives to adopting a greener lifestyle without compromising the “hip” factor. We carefully select each product to provide a large selection of unique and stylish products and we continually update and add new products to our store to keep it current and fresh.  We won't feature anything in our store that we wouldn't use with our own kids.  

We partner with manufacturers that meet the requirements of being at least one of the following (or any combination!): organic, natural, made with sustainable materials, employ fair trade practices, sweat shop free, made from recycled materials, upcycled, reusable, handmade locally in the USA and/or non-toxic. 

We love to support handmade and feature quite a few handmade items from local designers (mostly moms and/or mom owned businesses), all made in the USA.   By being made here in the USA, less energy is expended in shipping and transportation (we have them ship directly to you, the customer, so we aren't shipping twice - saving on fuel and excess packaging) plus you support the local economy by keeping jobs.  We consider these items as part of an eco-conscious lifestyle as well.
